Maneke Jewelers was founded in 1946 by Irvin Maneke at 1714 Washington Avenue. In 1963, Irvin moved the business to its present location, 1633 Washington Avenue in Washington Square. The store continued to grow; and, in 1983, Irvin sold the store to his son, Charlie Maneke. The store was incorporated in 1993, becoming Maneke Jewelers, Inc. Charlie is president.
Due to continued growth, the show room was doubled in size in 1998 to accommodate more inventory. Further expansion in 2002 filled the need for more office and storage space. Jewelry repairs have continued to be a large part of the business. Maneke Jewelers offers full service jewelry repair, watch repair, point of sale appraisals, pearl and bead stringing, along with machine and hand engraving. Two jewelers and a GIA graduate gemologist complete the staff of eleven.
After 60 years, Maneke Jewelers is still growing. Irvin Maneke’s original idea of quality merchandise at a good value along with excellent repair service has not been forgotten. Maneke Jewelers has a friendly and relaxed environment to take of everyone’s jewelry needs.
